Jerry Jared
Tutor, Test Prep and Academic Subjects
Jerry Jared is a veteran math educator with 39 years of classroom experience and a master’s degree in mathematics from Purdue University. Over the course of his career, he has helped generations of high school students build strong mathematical foundations and a sense of confidence in their abilities. Whether tutoring algebra, geometry, or more advanced topics, Jerry brings a steady hand, deep expertise, and an infectious enthusiasm for helping students reach that “light bulb” moment when everything finally clicks.
Outside the classroom, Jerry enjoys cheering on the Atlanta Braves, spending time with his grandkids, and playing 3rd base on his senior softball team, the Charlottesville Retreads. His passion for math was first sparked by his energetic tenth-grade geometry teacher, and he’s carried that inspiration forward, aiming to help students find joy and wonder in the subject. Always curious and committed to learning, Jerry hopes to one day study number theory at UVA—proving that great teachers never stop being students themselves.
