I have a Master’s Degree in math from Purdue and have taught high school math for 39 years.
Why do you want to be a tutor/what do you enjoy most about working with students?
I really enjoy that “light bulb” moment when the student completely masters the concept.
Describe a formative educational experience OR who was your favorite teacher and why?
My favorite teacher was Mr. Blair, my tenth-grade geometry teacher. He knew the material and had lots of energy.
What is the next Professional Development training/course you would like to do/take?
If I get the chance I would like to take a class at UVA in number theory.
What truly inspires you?

What’s one unusual thing about you that not many people know? This can be a skill, an experience – anything really.
I am a senior softball player. I play 3rd base for the Charlottesville Retreads.
