Nathan Frank
Tutor, Test Prep and Academic Subjects
Nathan Frank is a philosophy educator and writer who brings depth, curiosity, and care to every student interaction. He earned his BA in philosophy with minors in political science and Spanish from the University of Minnesota and is now pursuing his PhD in philosophy in Charlottesville. Over the past five years, he has taught undergraduate philosophy courses that often intersect with classical studies, anthropology, and Black/African American studies—helping students hone their skills in logical reasoning, argumentation, and essay writing. Nathan believes teaching is fundamentally about relationship-building and creative thinking, and he thrives on working through challenging concepts alongside his students.
When he’s not teaching or writing, Nathan enjoys reading widely in philosophy and cultural theory, playing and listening to music, and spending time outdoors or with loved ones. His fifth-grade English teacher, Ms. Oakley, first sparked his love for language by making space for creativity and exploration—a spirit he brings into his own teaching. Inspired by thoughtful friends and driven by a vision for a more caring and connected world, Nathan hopes to one day work in community-focused roles, improving systems like housing, transportation, or local education. He’s also spent time living in Athens, Greece—a meaningful chapter in a life devoted to learning and shared understanding.
