Typically, it’s good to assess whether coaching is working after about one month. Think about the reasons you sought out a coach in the first place and ask yourself a few questions: Do you feel more confident with your academics? Are your grades improving? Do you feel less stressed? Are you procrastinating less? Do you feel like you are making progress? Coaching takes an indefinite amount of time, but you should see some progress in the first month. If you don’t, discuss your concerns with your coach, and you can figure out the next steps together. Coaching is an excellent tool, but sometimes students need additional kinds of support.
